The Anubis pattern is derived from Egyptian sarcophagal adornments. The hieroglyphic geometry, composed of baboons, vultures, cutlery, jewels, towers and leopard scepters, also features the jackal-headed god of the afterlife, for which it is named. The ancient icons, copied from a sarcophagus at the Cleveland Museum of Art, are reborn in watercolor renderings arranged on a field of Onyx. Printed on premium linen cotton canvas, the pillow is edged with a bronze-colored looped fringe.
